Note for second consecutive month there were no reports from the Corporate & Finance Committee as the Finance Commissioner cancelled the meetings.
However, at Council, notice how among the many CNCL reports there were 4 related to finance. I pulled for discussion all 4.
(CNCL are the reports senior staff direct to Council without going to Committee.)
The current CAO, on coming into the top City position in Sept. 2022, restructured the City's 4 Standing Committee departments, changing the the department names and areas of jurisdiction. She also indicated there would be very few CNCL reports. That has not proved to be the case.

The Mayor asked the Finance Commissioner if she was okay with that. She said under the Municipal Act the annual municipal FIRs ((Financial Information Records) are mandated to be filed with the Ministry by May 31. I pointed out the May and June City finance committee meetings had been cancelled, and not only Oshawa but many Ontario municipalities often submit their FIRs late.
