Come on people, what were you thinking, that we wouldn't notice?
Dumping these tires (7!) this week, just north of Hwy 407 off Ritson? Making a hot mess in front of an old piece of furniture dumped on the weekend, all in front of a City of Oshawa No Dumping sign! Clearly the no dumping maximum $1000 fine sign is not working. PLEASE KNOW there is NO CHARGE TO DUMP UP TO 10 tires per vehicle off at the Oshawa Waste Management Facility at 1640 Ritson Rd N. Geesh! (closed on Sundays and Mondays)
UPDATING THIS POST - "The Region of Durham suspended the acceptance of used tires at all regional Waste Management Facilities (Oshawa, Scugog, and Brock) starting June 29, 2026. This temporary ban is due to severe overstocking and backlogs caused by third-party processors failing to haul and recycle tires quickly enough."
