With Thornton Rd. N. closed between Conlin Rd. & Winchester Rd. some Oshawans are asking when will it reopen. There isn't any indication on the construction signage of the closure duration. City staff say the expected project end date is the end of this year, from today in 6 months time. It is a City-led project, that also includes Regional infrastructure and involves installing water/sewer services to the Bickle Dr. community as well as installing large concrete storm sewers along Britannia Ave.
The City’s Project Manager is Ninna Lagula (for road construction and storm sewer inquiries) and the Region's construction Project Manager is Ryan Meier (for watermain and sanitary sewer related inquiries). For more details see here: https://www.oshawa.ca/.../road-closure-thornton-road.../
Senior Oshawa Staff said they will investigate possible modification to the signs to include the proposed end date.
