The Region of Durham's Emancipation Day Event yesterday at Oshawa's Ed Broadbent Waterfront Park saw beautiful weather complimenting the joyful atmosphere shared among the many celebrating the legacy and history of Black communities. Some excellent speeches and performances, including powerful poetry by Greg Frankson. His passionate "Home is Here" poem is his response to the common question "Where are you from?"
