Two Super Opportunities in Oshawa this summer of 2019 for Designers/Painters to brighten boxes and enhance poles around the City’s streetscape!
First opportunity: this Friday, July 19th is the deadline to submit an application to paint a mural on one of 5 Bell utility boxes (one in each of Oshawa’s 5 Wards) For application details email [email protected] ....and
Second opportunity: August 8th is the last day to submit design ideas for the Downtown BIA (Business Improvement Area) Pole Wrap competition! For more details go here
.
The BIA plan to wrap downtown hydro poles and bring a colourful, dynamic background to the area also has the bonus of stopping the vertical litter often seen on many street poles and boxes, as there is an anti-stick resin on the wrap that repels adhesive stickers and flyers being piled on. Those with artistic talents making submissions could see their designs bring streetscape beautification to new heights! The Oshawa Downtown BIA initiative expects the primary locations of the pole wraps to be in the new expansion areas where banners do not exist, with other areas slated in 2020. “
