$2.289 Million Dividend from Oshawa Power to the City of Oshawa for 2019 announced at the Oshawa Power (OPUC) Virtual Annual General Meeting this morning, with 32 participants (including 6 Council members: the Mayor, Councillors Chapman, Gray, Hurst, Nicholson and Me)
(For the record, the previous year, 2018 was $2.5 milion and 2017 was $2.3 million)
Only 3 questions in total during the Q & A and 2 were mine. They were read out loud by Oshawa Power President and the AGM presenter...well, .actually the 2nd question wasn't wholly read, but given a sort of answer:
1. The Oshawa Historical Society and visitors to Lakeview Park are seeking wi-fi technology that allows broad coverage 24/7 for the Oshawa Museum and patrons to improve operations. How Can OPUC provide this service in 2021?
ANSWER: Great question, nice to know wi-fi is desired at the lake...Oshawa Power would be happy to just have to determine how much the requestor is willing to pay.
2. With 11 Oshawa Power layoffs (at arbitration) in 2020 plus 4 or more resignations (please first confirm), is there a morale problem at Oshawa Power, and what is the current # employees in total not including the layoffs for each of the Oshawa Power companies?
ANSWER: Oshawa Power needed to take cost containment measures during COVID and morale is stronger than ever.
