"Signum is proposing to construct a 35 metre (115 ft.) high decorative shrouded tri-pole telecommunication tower with at-grade equipment and fencing on the most easterly portion of 1609 Simcoe Street South. This property is owned by the City of Oshawa. That portion of the site where the telecommunication tower is proposed is generally used as a gravel parking area which provides parking for matters such as major events at Lakeview Park including Canada Day and Ribfest"
From the City's Report DS-19-62, below is a combo of 3 attachments showing the subject site and neighbouring properties and 'upgraded' 'decorative' tower design which would include City of Oshawa signage on the upper portion of the tower and "would have the ability to be lit and would act as a landmark"

UPDATE: the City of Oshawa Council Chamber gallery was empty Monday night, save one delegation, Larry Ladd who spoke against a telecommunications tower at the lake.
I asked several questions of the Fontur International presenters. However, there are many more unknown details.
I truly believe, if Council approves this tower when it comes back to Development Services and Council for a vote, when a 135 foot tower is erected, Council will hear an outcry, 'how could the City let this happen here'?
Years ago I put on my twitter account these words "Responsible citizens don't let change simply wash over their community but are aware, informed & involved " Watching this wash over the lakefront, and wondering whether there is some kind of 'responsible citizen fatigue' at play...
