My at-a-glace look at COVID numbers - a chart I compiled of data extracted from the Ontario daily epidemiologic summary https://files.ontario.ca/moh-covid-19-report-en-2020-04-18 and the WHO daily reports https://www.who.int/…/novel-coronavirus-2…/situation-reports as well as the Durham Region data tracker, https://www.durham.ca/…/heal…/novel-coronavirus-update.aspx
It seems there is myriad data of the 'CONFIRMED CASES', whereas a dim spotlight on the DEATH STATS, which often you have to sift through so much else to zero in on the running totals.
Missing from each of the reports is an overview of the death numbers at a glance. The Durham tracker for instance has no past data as the previous day's information vanishes with each daily update.
Also, as has been pointed out by many now, the cause of death may not actually be COViD-19. Note the Ontario data reports include on page 10 this last sentence: "Deaths are included whether or not COVID-19 was determined to be a contributing or underlying cause of death as indicated in the iPHIS field Type of Death."
