Speaking with roads department staff in a neighbouring municipality recently, it seems marking underground utility locations, which is the final step before installing new road signs, has been behind several months across the Region.
A number of Oshawa's new sign installations were delayed for this reason. For example, last week the new road traffic signs, intended to help calm speeding on Woodstream Ave around Seneca Trail school, which I'd written about on my social media accounts back March, were installed:
SIDE NOTE CONCERNING INFORMING PROPERTY OWNERS
Following recent boulevard sign installations it came to my attention that it is not City policy to inform impacted property owners directly when a traffic sign or parking sign is going to be installed on the boulevard in front of their property. I've written staff to advocate for owners being directly informed and will follow up with a motion to try and ensure such notification becomes a city policy.
Those with a strong opinion on this issue or on any other matter seeking City action can email [email protected] for an investigation and response.

- two 4-way stops -one at Arborwood/Woodstream and another at Woodstream/Esterbrook.
- as well as a 3-way stop at Esterbrook/Harlstone,
- 40Km signs on Woodstream from Grandview Ave. to Townline Rd,
- Community Safety Zone (CSZ) signs on Woodstream (which for some reason ends on the west side of the Esterbrook intersection - Imo the "CSZ Ends" sign should have been placed on the east side of Esterbrook to include the intersection).
- Also the 50km signs were finally changed to 40km on Grandview Ave. N. from Coldstream Dr, to Conlin Rd. E.
