a broad range of matters, with ideas, suggestions and  concerns which include:
  • from Tara - the unfortunate complete lack of spectator seating at three of the four Legends ice pads;
  • from Vivianne  and others - the benefits of equipping Oshawa parks with more water play features for young kids, and recreational equipment geared to older kids, as many are travelling to Whitby's parks for a better outdoor play experience;
  • from Peter, Darren, Ron and others - need for 4 way stop or traffic lights at Wilson Rd. N. and Greenhill, especially with a new public school on Greenhill opening in 2019;
  • from JB -need for traffic calming on Coldstream Dr.';
  • from Sumeet -unfortunate loss of Oshawa tennis club access to UOIT tennis court;
  • from David -no regular adult swim times available at Legends pool and severely limited at Civic Centre;
  • from Kirk -idea to involve corporate sponsors and expand Legends Community Centre  to include a much needed athletic performance training centre;
  • from Peter -idea to utilize hydro corridor for bike path to connect to existing Oshawa trails;
  • from Coomaran -need to improve efficient of the public transit service and extend GO transit further than just the one Thornton Rd. GO station, especially for Durham College students;
  • from Gwendolyn -City needs to do more to address the homelessness problem;
  • from Graham -to alleviate the noise pollution on Simcoe St. N.  prohibit trucks using Jake brakes;
  • from Michael -need to ensure Oshawa's cannabis retail stores are reputable and well designed;
  • from Darren -need for Oshawa planners to ensure proper zoning on the vacant lot on the south west corner of Wilson Rd. N.  and Greenhill Ave to ensure it is well-developed and not left in a neglected state simply to grow weeds;
  • from Ben -question why 40km speed is posted only on streets in front of schools when many other streets would be safer with 40km posted.
  • from Mapril -In winter issue parking permits in city parks to avoid cars parked on street during night snow removal times. Also, in July/August increase pick up of green bins;
  • from Brian -schedule yard waste pick up on weeks alternate to garbage pick up, as with the current arrangement there is little room on lots with narrow frontage to have the 4 waste items (garbage, green bin, blue bin and yard waste) on one week, when on alternate weeks there are only 2 waste items (green and blue bins);
  • from Hemel -need for improving bus service on Taunton Rd. and specially a direct Taunton GO bus
  • and from so many -that city government needs to seriously address Oshawa's unsustainable high property tax problem, and the Region better manage finances and scale back water and sewer rates
