Canada's new finance minister and deputy prime minister Chrystia Freeland announced this afternoon that the application deadline for the Canada Emergency Business Account CEBA, which provides interest-free loans for up to $40,000 for small businesses and not-for-profits to help cover their operating costs including rent, utilities, insurance and wages has been extended to Oct. 31, 2020. If the loan is repaid by Oct. 31, 2022 the government will forgive 25% of it...'which means up to $10,000 in cash for participating' to use Ms. Freeland's words.
