Today's Community Services Committee meeting brought the good news we've been waiting for — a Community Safety Zone on Raglan Rd. W and E (from Stevenson Rd. N. to just east of Ritson Rd. N.)
The motion is a long one the Mayor moved with input from other Council members and as Jill Monique Coffey, Sharon Vanderven, Tracey Podlowski Kayla Cvancic Mathieu Pat and Bill Forbes know first hand, it is the culmination of a lot of work from the Raglan community and DRPS East Division Constable Gord Dicresce.
The long motion (copied below) will be on the May 24, 2022 Council meeting agenda for final approval by all 11 members of Oshawa Council. Finally this looks to be positive, since at the Community Services Committee meeting today there were 5 Yes votes to part #1 of the motion (the one No vote was by Ward 3 Councillor Brad Marks); and a unanimous committee 6 Yes votes to parts #2-6
