My sincere sympathies to his wife Teresa Aker and family at this time of their sudden loss. John was such a good natured person, a true gentleman and politician who gave diligent service to the City. His frequent and lovely reference to "the Good People of Oshawa" is something I will hold a fond memory of, as it seemed when he said "the Good People of Oshawa" it was more than a compliment, but reflective and inspiring for us all at the same time.
