Time for Oshawans to give feedback on the potential conversion of the ARTS & RESOURCE CENTRE to a new City Cultural Hub.
The consultant has proposed THREE PRELIMINARY DESIGN CONCEPTS. Your interest and input will help make a difference. Submit your comments on the concept design and scale that you feel will 'best resonate with the Oshawa community' for the consultant's final Feasibility Study Recommendations in December.
In addition to viewing the 3 Concept designs on-line, you can visit the Arts Resource Centre, 45 Queen St. or one of the City community centres to view the design concepts on 24" x 36" poster boards. Also, a colour handout of the concept design is available for pick up at the community centres upon request.
Staff are seeking public feedback either on-line or using paper feedback form before September 12 , 2022 https://connectoshawa.ca/CulturalHub
Questions also can be sent to Susan Kordalewski, Supervisor, Cultural Development and Programs 905-436-3311 Email [email protected] Susan indicated this Phase 2 stage is a high level study, but when the report is made available in December there will be a costs range provided.
It seems the matter of the City converting the Arts Resource Centre and planning a Feasibility Study for this has been a plan for almost a decade. See pages 45, 235 & 245 in the 2015 Parks, Recreation, Library, and Culture Facility Needs Assessment City of Oshawa Parks, Recreation, Library, and Culture Facility Needs Assessment
