Below is the Humane Society of Durham Region letter, which was added to Oshawa Council Special Council meeting Thurs April 11th.
The Humane Society Chair writes HSDR is "withdrawing the current animal services proposal". This follows from what was presented to Community Services Committee April 1st, concerning confidential Report CS-19-31.
The fact the public Agenda for the April 1st Committee meeting Agenda contained statements
caused much stress to a lot of Oshawa citizens. Citizen's mounting concerns in the past week correlate to the unfortunate process undertaken with respect to Report CS-19-31.
At the next Community Services Committee meeting, on Monday April 23rd hopefully the lessons learned by all involved will bring about next steps ensuring full and open discussions that
1) aim to improve relationships and
2) continue to strengthen care of animals in our community!
