Oshawa Power & Utility Corporation's Dividend to the City announced today: $1.91 Million. Chair Ivano Labricciosa said although there was a slight decrease in revenue and expenses they managed to maintain the dividend.
Their 5 year plan was approved by the Ontario Energy Board.
Relative to all other utility companies in Ontario they are near the bottom of the curve for lowest rates.
The OPUC is made up of 4 companies.
OSHAWA POWER: the main, regulated distribution utility company serving the City of Oshawa,
and the 3 'niche' unregulated companies:
ENERFORGE which operates clean energy generation assets in the Province of Ontario;
DURHAM BROADBAND which with its dark fiber and its lit fiber network being developed in Durham Region, and as an Internet Service Provider, in partnership with Durham Region is increasing broadband service to the Region's underserviced areas;
OSHAWASOLAR which develops, constructs and operates renewable energy generations assets in Ontario.
In 2020 Oshawa Power invested $16.4M in capital infrastructure: completed all its 23 planned projects, installed 485 new poles; 135 transformers; 24.7km of new overhead cable; and 5.3km of underground cable.
It also increased by $20M its long term liability through TD to help facilitate its capital investments" (See last slide below with more info about the debt increase.)
They are receiving funding for electric charging stations and by the end of this year they should have 24 Level 3 charging stations in Oshawa.
