A NEW HOTEL in Oshawa (a sub-brand of a Hilton) is proposed for 1319 Airport Blvd, which is currently an empty site south east of the Mandarin Restaurant and south and west of Airport Self-Storage.
The plan is to build a 4 storey 25,000 office building with a restaurant on the main floor on the site closest to Taunton Rd. —then on the east side is the 43,000 sq. ft. 98 unit hotel. It is proposed to be a sub-brand of a Hilton, with smaller rooms. There is a municipal sidewalk to Taunton and a driveway connection to Taunton Road and vehicles can come in from either Taunton or Aviator Lane.
There will also be some underground parking under the office building.
According to city staff, the height of these buildings comply with federal regulations and NAV CANADA. They are slightly higher than the buildings to the west, as they are not on the flight path.
