Oshawa Fire Services posted today that they have received delivery of the new Rapid Response/Haz Mat truck!
It finally! will be going into service soon, which I understand should be in a few weeks once the new firefighter recruits finish training.
It has been a long wait since it was included in the 2021 City Capital Budget, after the Dillon consultant completed the new Oshawa Fire Master Plan and Community Risk Assessment. Unfortunately then there were various supply chain issues. I understand that this apparatus is to help with service from Fire Hall #1 (at 199 Adelaide St W and Arena St.) for Hwy 401 accidents and medical calls in the downtown.
