When a whole community stands up to the City and Developers like this, well, you have to think something is amiss in Oshawa, north of Hwy 407. Note that this is one week after the Developers Group Consultant and City staff revealed their development plans for a massive 1200+ acre planning area. The virtual meeting clearly was a turning point, and not just because the internet connection was brutal...something about what the Developers and City were selling clearly the residents aren't buying.
I support the community's request for an in-person meeting, a redo of the Oct 28th meeting. From the comments I heard, there was a lot of skepticism and searching for straightforward factual information among the conflicting statements made during the presentation...one resident's comment that stood out most for me at the virtual meeting was 'WE HAVE LOST ALL FAITH IN THE CITY OF OSHAWA" that was just moments before I lost the connection for the last time.
