Another item of interest from the City's Monday Sept 28 2020 Council meeting:
Oshawa Power and Utilities Corporation (OPUC) has secured funding from the federal government to install seven electric vehicle charging stations. The OPUC needed the City of Oshawa to agree to a license agreement with OPUC for the installation of these level 2 and level 3 electric vehicle chargers in City-owned parking lots or along city streets where viable.
Although all of Council voted to approve the license agreement there was a fair bit of discussion about the 'details'.
The OPUC identified the following City-owned sites currently identified for cost-effective installation and ease of public use (1 at the lake & 6 downtown):
75 Charles Street (on street);
109 Bruce Street (on street);
Art Resource Centre – 45 Queen Street;
Parking Lot 15 – 70-78 Albert Street;
Lakeview Park;
Parking Lot 18 - 74 Carriage Works Drive; and,
100 Simcoe Street South (on street).
