I have to thank Oshawa resident Garth Johns for pointing out to me on social media that there was no public notice concerning the Friday Oct 1st National Seniors Flag Raising event.
Imo, the public should have notice of all City flag raisings!
Tomorrow I'll ask the Corporate Services Committee to support such a motion. As I'm not a member of that Committee, I'll ask another Councillor to move a motion to ensure that public notices for all City Flag Raising Events are placed on the City's website calendar.
To better assist with this, it is timely that upgrades to both the City's website, and the Oshawa Senior Citizens Centre website are just now underway.
Last week at the Sept 27, 2021 Council meeting Report FIN-21-82 "City and Oshawa Senior Community Centres Website Upgrades" was approved. Among other things, this Report states there will be an enhancement to the Events & Meeting Calendar and a new News & Alerts module"
The current Events & Meetings Calendar which contains these categories:
►Business Events & Workshops
►Council & Committee Meetings
►Committee of Adjustment
►Community Meetings
►Festivals & Events
