Service Oshawa refers noisy vehicle complaints to Durham Police. However the City now records the call data on these complaints. Formerly they didn't do this, but after members of Council directed improved tracking, now the City logs vehicle noise complaints to better scope the problem and raise awareness of areas where and when vehicle noise is causing significant disturbance.
Thanks also goes out to Oshawa resident Dean Lindsay, who is Chair of the Oshawa Active Transportation Advisory Committee. He is making a great effort to organize a community group and advocate for the Project Noisemaker initiative being adopted by the Region of Durham soon!
Dean welcomes hearing from those who share this concern and want to raise awareness to join the movement!
It is time to put a damper on well known Vehicle Noise Problem Hot Spots in Oshawa!
