Minister of Health Christine Elliott described the shutdown restrictions which start 12:01 a.m. Sat. April 3rd.
Prohibiting indoor organized public events and social gatherings, and limiting the capacity for outdoor events to a maximum of 5 people.
Individuals who live alone may consider having exclusive contact with another household.
Restricting in person shopping at pharmacies and retail stores that primarily sell food to a 50% capacity
25% limit for all other retail stores with other public health and workplace safety measures.
Prohibiting personal cares services and personal fitness services.
Prohibiting indoor and outdoor restaurant dining, but take out, drive-thru and deliveries will be permitted.
Limiting capacity at weddings, funerals, and religious services to 15% total occupancy indoors, and to the number of individuals that can be maintained two metres of physical distance outdoors. This does not include social gatherings associated with these services such as receptions, which are not permitted indoors and are limited to five people outdoors.
Minister Elliot said "we know this news will be difficult for many across the province especially after all of the sacrifices Ontarians have already made to fight this deadly virus but the modeling shows we must"...as the Premier said "we have to crunch down for the next 4 weeks. It's a sacrifice we have to make. We must all avoid social gatherings."
